Big Hearts, Little Animals: Making a Difference for Humans and Pets Alike at Nevada Humane Society

“Recently, the enhanced branding of the Biggest Little City encouraged us to get even more involved in the community,” said Kimberly Wade, Senior Manager for Communications and Events for Nevada Humane Society. “Through Big Hearts, Little Animals, we are hoping to encourage people to look at multiple causes—not just to adopt a pet, but also to let people know we are here, especially for those who haven’t considered adoption before. In addition, we want help the Food Bank of Northern Nevada, because we’re here for not just pets but people too.”
A donation bin from the Food Bank of Northern Nevada has been placed in Nevada Humane Society’s shelter and people are encouraged to drop off food donations any time during regular pet adoption hours. The bin will be out through April 29. Nevada Humane Society is also working in conjunction with the BiggestLittleCity.org to promote sharing the positive features of Reno, showcasing the variety of good that is continually spread across the community.
