CALL TO ACTION: WILD HORSE TAMING NATURALLY EVENT

Many of our volunteers and supporters will be attending the Parelli Wild Horse Taming Naturally event being held July 29-31 at the Reno Livestock Events Center. (For more information about the Wild Horse Taming Naturally event, check out the Parelli website.)

Two past program graduates, Morgan and Jeremiah, auditioned for and were accepted as part of the demo team for this event. (Watch their audition video here.)

Being invited to be part of the Parelli demo team is quite an honor and we're super excited for Morgan and Jeremiah.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP:
  • Cheer, clap, stomp your feet! To help support Morgan and Jeremiah as they embark on this exciting and somewhat nerve-racking journey over the weekend, cheer them on any chance you get.
  • If you got 'em, wear 'em! If you have a Horses for the Spirit t-shirt, please consider wearing it at least one of the days you attend the event. We want to be as visible as possible at the event so Morgan and Jeremiah know just how many folks are out there supporting them.
  • Be the voice of Horses for the Spirit. Find opportunities to talk to those around you about Horses for the Spirit and what we do. This event is a great opportunity for our organization to get the word about without spending a dime on advertising!
  • Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Please pick up some brochures from Deb Conrad at the event and hand them out whenever you can! Call Deb on her cell phone to make arrangements: 224-5999.
Morgan and Jeremiah have spent the last two months preparing for this event -- we are very proud of their commitment and the level of savvy they have been demonstrating with Henry and Otis.

Although the process of preparing for this event was not a "program", Deb Conrad and Suzy Anderson, who have been supporting these two kids on this journey, can attest that it has been a wonderful learning experience for all involved. Humans and horses alike have been facing some new challenges and overcoming them. This is how we know working with horses is powerful - even when the intention might not be to teach positive life skills, it is inevitable when working toward goals with your horse partner!

We look forward to seeing you there and thank you in advance for supporting Horses for the Spirit and the kids and horses while you are there!
