Long Live the Life and Good Works of Reno's Stewie the Cat

Stewie — a Maine coon cat who frequented Artown's Art Paws during his summers, passed on Feb. 4.  But Stewie is Reno's sweetheart forever.  And now, he is also the “longest domestic cat ever,” according to a Guinness Book of World Records certificate received last week by his mom Robin Hendrickson.
The certificate reads: “The longest domestic cat ever was Mymains Stewart Gilligan at 123 cm (48.5 in) long. He was owned by Robin Hendrickson and Erik Brandsness (USA) and was measured on 28 August 2010.”
Stewie was certified as the longest living domestic cat before his death, as well as the the holder of the longest feline tail in 2011. Friday’s certificate certifies him as the longest domestic cat EVER, according to Guinness Book of World Records.
Stewie has a long legacy in our community.  His work as a therapy cat helping people in medical care and as a feline ambassador for animal causes endeared him to all..
