Nevada Gives A "BIG ______" You Fill In the Blank!

(Reno, NV) – The SPCA of Northern Nevada (SPCA) is one of the charities that Nevadan’s can donate to during Nevada’s Big Give.  The event will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 with a day of online giving that will benefit charities across the state. This initiative, launched by NevadaGIVES, is a unique, high-visibility promotion or personal giving designed to bring new donors and dollars to nonprofit organizations throughout the state. You can donate through the website www.NVBigGive.org.
Nevada’s Big Give is important to the SPCA because we rely solely on the donations of people in our community.  It’s a great opportunity for our community to remember how important it is to help non-profit organizations throughout the year.  We recently celebrated our 20,000th adoption and are able to reach milestones like this because of the generosity of our community. The donations will go to help provide animals in our shelter with medical attention, microchipping, food, lodging, grooming, loving attention, and help them find their forever home.
Donations such as dog and cat food, bleach, hand wipes, paper towels and other necessities can be made at the SPCA located at 4950 Spectrum Blvd.  A full list of items is available online at www.spcanevada.org.
Razoo.com, a seasoned community giving day fundraising tool, has created a website for Nevada’s Big Give. Donations can be made to non-profits by selecting their online page on the Nevada’s Big Give website, and they can learn more about the organization and its mission.
Support for Nevada’s Big Give comes from lead sponsor the Mark A. Baker Team and contributing sponsors Wells Fargo and Bank of America. The initiative has been embraced by local celebrities and community leaders including Terry Fator, Brad Garrett, Cirque Du Soleil, Holly Madison and U.S. Senator Harry Reid who have filmed Public Service Announcements encouraging residents to do their part and give.
The SPCA’s adoption goal for 2014 is 1,864 adoptions to coincide with Nevada’s Sesquicentennial, the 150th anniversary of Nevada’s admission to the Union.  Help us reach our goal by adopting a dog or cat from the SPCA and give them a forever loving home. The SPCA is located at 4950 Spectrum Blvd. All available animals can be found online at spcanevada.org.
About the SPCA of Northern Nevada
The SPCA, founded in 1998, is Reno's original no-kill animal shelter. Our mission is to be an innovative regional leader in responsible treatment of homeless dogs and cats, primarily through their rescue and placement in forever loving homes and by promoting spaying and neutering to control pet overpopulation. We accomplish our mission with dedication to our core values and a lifetime commitment to our animals.
